Envelope Stuffing Queen

As hard as I try to get away, and even when I think I have succeeded, my life seems to always bring me back to stuffing envelopes for a living...

Monday Morning

There is something magical about 8:30 a.m. on a Monday morning, sitting at home...that's right because of Dead White Men Day I get paid to sit on my ass, drink coffee, and later--clean out my kitchen cupboards. One shimmering point of light in the otherwise dark tomb of selling my soul for corporate security--paid day off.

And for once, I get the house ALL TO MYSELF. My roommate is visiting her mom until Thursday, and my girlfriend is working today--so that leaves me home, with the bird and other small creatures. My roommate and I work almost opposite schedules, so on regular work days (weeks) I only see her on Sat & Sunday...but on a day off she is usually home, she doesn't work until 4p.m.--and my girlfriend and I have THE EXACT schedule...so this is a treat of a little time to myself.

(NOTE: to the organized-challenge--you may possibly not want to click on the link under "kitchen cabinets" it just gave me a mild anxiety attack)

I am a fan of The Simpsons. I think that is an entertaining and intelligent show. I have some officially licensed Simpsons crap. No where near as much as many fans. Anyway, I am sure everyone watched last night and discovered that Patty is a L E S B I A N, and in the end--Marge accepted her and even saved her from marrying (unknown to her) a MAN!!!

Bleeding Heart

I thought when I moved to the Northeast I would be getting some real winter weather. But, no it's 46 and rainy.

We have a tropical fish that is called a bleeding heart. It's called that because it has a small red splotch on its side, as if we can see her heart right through her scales.

I guess I may be a bleeding heart too, because I was near tears most of this morning over the news that a 15 year old boy was convicted of killing his two grandparents when he was 12 years old and sentenced to spend 30years in grown up prison. I haven't followed this case at all, I certainly won't pretend like I know all of the details...but here is what I know.

The CHILD was 12 when he murdered his grandparents.

He was living there because he had psych. problems.

He was on ZOLOFT, which has never been tested by the FDA on children or teenagers.

I just don't see the justice in any of this.

The Beginning

An Introduction.

I guess I have been BLOGGING on and off since Late 2001. My first inspiration to start posting an online journal came from the book, The Broke Diaries. I started on www.mydeardiary.com and have used it on and off for 3+ years now. I thought I was going to chronicle my search for a meaningful career, but it turned out to be just another whiny love life diary. A typical coming out story told in way too many parts...
